Instructions for the use of the A-Q-Pressor
"The concepts of internal and external environment are very important to the philosophy of oriental medicine. The human body, it is believed, encloses an ongoing flow of bioenergy or life-force called "chi." This energy flows along specific pathways called "meridians," and controls the functioning of all of the organs. In a healthy individual, this flow maintains a constant balance with itself and the external environment. When external or internal events occur which disturb this balance, disease ensues. Along the meridians are a large number of controlling nerve endings, or "acupoints" which act as valves for the flow of chi. The stimulation of these points, properly performed, acts to restore balance to the internal environment" (Excerpt from "The James Roy Holliday III guide to acupressure").

The emphasis is on the personal responsibility for one’s health, putting the relief of minor discomforts into the patient’s own hands. The knowledge of the meridians and the various neuralgic points that is the proper of acupuncturists and reflexotherapists, is of secondary importance for acupressure treatment by zones (Head’s zones). Head discovered the relation between skin zones and inner organs. A pain acting on an sick organ is felt at the corresponding skin segment rather than at the organ itself.

Place the A-Q-PRESSOR on the painful area (never on an open wound!) and press against the skin with as much pressure as bearable, for one minute. For longer applications, attach the A-Q-PRESSOR using elastic bandages, and contract concerned muscles sporadically. Repeat until pain disappears.

Restrictions: Do not apply the A-Q-PRESSOR on tender skin.

Maintenance: Wash with soapy water and rinse with soft brush.

Notice: The A-Q-PRESSOR is not a medical instrument. It does not pretend to heal, but favours the mechanism of selfregeneration of the organism.
