History of the A-Q-PRESSOR

Around 3000 B.C., the Chinese scientist, Huang Tium, was already applying acupuncture (the therapy which consists in inserting very fine needles at carefully defined places in the body tissues) to the task of diagnosing and curing many illnesses.

This branch of alternative medecine has been carried further by Russian experts, mainly Prof. I. Kutsnetsov, who since 1979 have been undertaking research in stimulation through acupressure. By applying to the body surface a carpet of needles closely arranged so as not to pierce the skin, they have succeeded in achieving the most remarkable results on the performances of many world-class athletes.

This dramatic success led the Russian experts to apply their system more generally with the aim of improving general muscle performance and physical endurance amongst all categories of sportsmen and women.

At the same time extensive multi-category clinical tests were carried out on hundreds of patients, and it has thus been established that stimulation by acupressure can produce a large number of beneficial effects, particularly substantial improvement in physical well-being and relief of muscular pain. The russian name of the device was Implexator.

Today the original devices made with metal needles have been replaced by a flexible instrument in polyethylene, friendly to the skin, cheaper and more hygienic. This is the story of the A-Q-PRESSOR.
